Made in 2010, 38mm, 18K yellow gold case, reference no. 5099. This Patek Philippe watch was commissioned by a collector in Hong Kong and entrusted to Mei Hua for its exquisite hand-carved design. Upon completion, it garnered significant attention in the watch collecting community, representing one of the earliest wristwatch creations by Patek Philippe using fully handmade micro-carving techniques in China. The case thickness measures a mere 1.2 mm, with the thinnest section being only 0.2 mm, making the achievement of deep relief carving at such delicate thicknesses extremely challenging. The depiction of Bodhidharma is compassionate, powerful, and remarkably lifelike, making it an unrivaled masterpiece of micro-carved wristwatches in the hearts of watch enthusiasts in China to this day.
