About watchmaker

The Rilliet company was listed in Strasbourg around 1790. The family probably came from Geneva. François Antoine Rilliet (1765 - after 1818) was a son of the watchmaker Gabriel Rilliet (03/02/1737 - 10/25/1807) and Marianne Rothea. Marianne Rothea was the daughter of the watchmaker François Rothea from Strasbourg.

Gabriel Rilliet worked in Strasbourg. His son François Antoine was born in Geneva and died in Strasbourg.

At the jewelry exhibition in 1904 in the Old Palace in Strasbourg, a Louis XVI gold pocket watch with exposed movement was exhibited, signed Rothea & Rilliet à Strasbourg. The company was still active in Strasbourg around 1820.
