Background Story

Movado was founded as LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA in 1881 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Léopold Achille Isidore Ditesheim. In 1905, the company changed its name to Movado, which means "always in motion" in Esperanto. It has earned over 100 patents and 200 international awards for artistry and innovation. Movado designed the Ermeto as a travel watch from the start, they made four sizes of Ermeto watches: the "Baby" for women to carry in purses, the "Normal" for men to carry in a pocket, the "Master" as a travel clock, and this model, the "Pullman", designed for display on a desk (but also small enough for travel use with the benefit of having a larger face).
