Hamilton G.C.T Master Navigation Pocket Watch

Made by Hamilton for circa the 1940s, 52mm, chromium-plated nickel silver case, reference no. AN5740, with 22 jewels manual-winding caliber. There are three letters G.C.T(Greenwich Civil Time) on the dial, it is intended to be set to Greenwich Civil Time as the reference timepiece for navigational purposes, to be used as a master time indicator in airplanes.
Time is indicated on two orbits; the inner orbit is graduated from 1 to 24 and designates the hours; the outer one is divided into 60 equals to sections numbered at 5 and multiples thereof to 60 and designates hours and minutes.

Brand History
The Hamilton Watch Company was founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1892. Its first series of pocket watches, Broadway Limited, became known as the "Watch of Railroad Accuracy". The unrivalled precision and reliability of the Hamilton railroad watches put a stop to an epidemic of serious accidents and marked the beginning of a long and continuing journey of successful timekeeping. Now, it was subsequently integrated into the Swatch Group, based in Bienne, Switzerland.
