Chinese Market Enamel Pocket Watch

Made in Switzerland circa 1860, 56mm. Gilt silver open-face case with painted enamel and pearl-set bezel. The painted enamel scene depicts flower bouquets and a lakeview landscape. This background is inspired by the Geneva lake with the Chillon castle and the Dents du Midi (a multi-summited mountain situated in the Chablais Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais). A rare combining motif that appeared to the oriental taste.
