Produced circa 2015, 47mm, 18K white gold and DLC-coated titanium case, self-winding caliber Cal. CYR598, 40 jewels, 28800 vph, 40 hours power reserve.
Functions: retrograde hour and date, the hand indicates both hours and minutes on each side and set with 2 rotating tubes to indicate the day(red) and night(white), spherical moon phases.
The case back engraved “Unique piece.”, and contains an identical copy of a more than 2,500-year-old coin, produced during the reign of Cyrus The Great. Today, the original is owned by the founders of Cyrus in Switzerland. The coin is a remnant of the first currency in the world and is of great historic value. The Achaemenid Lion had just put down the Babylonian Bull, this unique timepiece is dedicated to the taking of Babylon.
Brand History
Cyrus is a Swiss independent watch manufacturer, founded in 2010. Cyrus the Great, the famous conqueror who lived over 2500 years ago – and who is considered to have been a pioneer in Human Rights, was the inspiration for this watch brand.
This model was designed by Jean-François Mojon, a watchmaker who collaborated with MB&F for LM1 and Harry Winston for Opus X.
