19th Century Marble and Ormolu Figural Mantel Clock

Made circa 19th century, signed ‘Baschet Baullier, Paris’ on the movement, black marble base with applied bead borders.Bronze book-formed ornament engraved “Tragédias de Sophocle / Ajax/ Électre / Œdipe à Colone”, which are three survived plays written by the famous Greek tragedian Sophocles. The figure relies on the top of clock could be considered as Sophocles.
