B022 - "ROTARY" series is tributed to the legendary Japanese car manufacturer Mazda’s 100th anniversary of their brand (1920-2020). Base on an “ETA” caliber 2824 automatic movement, Behrens designed and constructed a twin-rotary module on top which simulates the motion of the iconic Mazda’s Rotary engine. The large rotor with the triangular pointers rotating with a fixed but non-uniformed track at the bottom alongside the applied metal indexes on the left-hand side of the dial will represent the time in “HOURS”, whereas the smaller triangular 3-pointer rotor on top alongside the metal applied indexes on the right-hand side of the dial will represent the time in “MINUTES”. (Both rotors are installed with sufficient numbers of rubies for reducing friction and to increase efficiency.)
